CustomDroid

crDroid vs Evolution X

Both are feature-packed, highly customizable custom ROMs that fans of tweaking love — so they get cross-shopped a lot. The difference is flavour: crDroid is customization on a LineageOS base, while Evolution X wraps a Pixel-style experience around a similar pile of options.

crDroid

Built on LineageOS sources, crDroid keeps the clean, stable base and layers a deep set of customization on top — status bar, themes, gestures, lock screen and more. It feels like AOSP with a control panel for everything. Pick it if you want broad device support and the freedom to tune the UI without committing to a particular “look”.

Evolution X

Evolution X aims to deliver the Google Pixel experience — Pixel UI, wallpapers and features — combined with a rich set of customization options. If you like how Pixels look and feel but want more control than Google gives you, it's a natural fit. Pick it if the Pixel aesthetic appeals and you still want plenty of knobs.

So which should you flash?

  • Want clean AOSP plus tweaks? crDroid.
  • Want the Pixel look and feel? Evolution X.
  • Either way you get heavy customization — it often comes down to which is better maintained for your device.
