Terms of use

CustomDroid is a free directory of custom Android ROMs and the guides that go with them. These terms are short and in plain English. By using the site you agree to them; if you don't, please don't use it.

What CustomDroid is, and isn't

We aggregate the device lists that each ROM project publishes and link to the project's own pages. We don't host, build, modify or distribute any ROM, recovery, firmware or other file. CustomDroid is independent: it isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or speaking for any ROM project, phone manufacturer or carrier.

No warranty

The site and everything on it is provided “as is”, without any warranty — express or implied — that it is accurate, complete, current or fit for any particular purpose. We work to keep it correct, but build data is imported automatically from third parties, projects change their catalogues without notice, and mistakes happen. Always confirm details, especially the device codename and install requirements, on the ROM project's own page before acting on them.

Flashing is at your own risk

Unlocking a bootloader, flashing a custom ROM, or restoring firmware can permanently damage (“brick”) a phone, erase all of its data, void its warranty, set permanent tamper flags such as Samsung's Knox warranty bit, and stop apps like banking and payment apps from working. Our guides are general information to help you understand the process; they are not instructions for your specific device, and the ROM project's install guide is always the authority. You alone decide whether to modify your phone, and you take responsibility for the outcome. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any damage, data loss or other harm arising from using the site or acting on its content.

Third-party builds and links

Links to ROM downloads, install guides, forums, tools and donation pages take you to sites we don't control. We don't review, test, scan or vouch for any third-party build — including builds labelled “official” by their project — and a listing here isn't a recommendation. Unofficial builds in particular can come from anyone. Download only from the project's own site, verify checksums or signatures where the project provides them, and remember that each linked site has its own terms and privacy policy.

Information can go out of date

Support for a device can end, a download can move, and a maker can change its bootloader policy with a single update. Old builds also stay listed on CustomDroid as a historical record after a project stops updating them. Treat anything here as a starting point to check, not a guarantee of what works today.

Trademarks

Android is a trademark of Google LLC. Phone, brand and ROM names and logos belong to their respective owners and are used here only to identify the devices and projects being listed. Their use doesn't imply any affiliation with or endorsement of CustomDroid.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site changes. The version on this page is the current one.
